Fascial Approaches: Pelvic Re-balancing
Especially important for back and hip pain, for maximum performance of athletes and pelvic floor dysfunction
If the pelvis is out of alignment, everything above and everything below is affected.
Pelvic imbalances can have a profound impact on individuals’ overall well-being and physical performance, including athletes. In this dynamic weekend course, we will delve into the fascinating realm of pelvic rebalancing from a fascial perspective. This course is designed to benefit a wide range of individuals, and athletes, in particular, will find tremendous value in understanding how pelvic imbalances can affect their bodies.
Throughout the course, we will explore the comprehensive effects of pelvic imbalances, extending beyond muscle considerations. Participants will gain insights into how these imbalances contribute to issues such as low back and SI joint pain, hip degeneration, knee pathologies, foot and ankle problems, pelvic floor dysfunction, as well as neck pain and TM joint imbalance. By approaching the topic from a fascial perspective, we will uncover one of the most commonly overlooked areas of assessment.
To accurately assess and evaluate pelvic imbalances, participants will learn a variety of assessment techniques and observation methods. We will focus on identifying indicators such as leg length discrepancy, tissue guarding, and contracture, which provide essential clues to the extent of the imbalance. Additionally, we will explore the various pathologies that can contribute to these imbalances and discuss pertinent ligamentous tests for stability assessment, helping guide the course of treatment.
Participants will acquire the skills to develop personalized treatment plans based on thorough interviews and assessments. The treatment approach will emphasize the utilization of light pressure fascial release techniques, enabling participants to effectively address the affected areas. Furthermore, the course will incorporate the integration of home therapy strategies and exercises that participants can recommend to their clients, including athletes. These at-home practices will complement the treatment received, further promoting pelvic balance, and supporting long-term well-being.
